Which of itself is not bad, but I can't necessarily go to a friend's house and let them see my book to make a character. Using roll20 has been great but it only allows me to use official sources, and I have to pay for them. Which of course doesn't give us access to many things that come out that are new. However I have realized that it is not being developed further. It gives a lot of options for most official books (not Tasha's) It gives a good lot for third-party things and unearthed arcanas(It includes things sometimes on the DM guild). So for character creation we use a program called Aurora. So anything that's not officially licensed just won't show up there if I'm understanding it correct. And that material basically excludes any kind of third-party content.
However it requires players to be in a session that I created, and it can only use material from books that I have purchased. Yes roll 20 gives us a good (ish) character builder. And it's pretty easy overall to transfer things between games for us.ĭifficult part for us comes to character building.
